Thank you for inviting the Salvation Army to respond to the consultation. We believe that everyone should be treated as an equal regardless of an individual’s disabilities or desired goals, and that creating the framework for increased access to British Sign Language will increase inclusion for users of BSL.
Unfortunately we have been unable to complete the response to the consultation as We think that it is important that the response comes from those with lived experience. We had arranged for a member of the Salvation Army, who is a BSL user to do this on our behalf but unfortunately, she has had health issues and is unable to do this. We would welcome the opportunity to be part of this consultation, if this is required, at a later date.
